Jennifer Carsen (JD, aPHR) is an HR content writer and recovering employment law attorney. She specializes in writing clear, compelling content for senior-level HR audiences.

She is a member of the New Hampshire Bar Association and SHRM, as well as the American Society of Journalists and Authors. Jennifer is the author of HR How-to: Employee Retention (CCH Incorporated) and was named a “Top 25 Online Influencer in Employment Law” by HR Examiner.

Jennifer is an alum of Williams College and the NYU School of Law, and is currently working toward a master’s degree in industrial-organizational psychology from National Louis University. She lives in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with her husband, Eric, and their children, Lorelei and Nicholas. In her free time, she enjoys cooking, walking, and eating – though generally not all at once.
